Memorial Services and Receptions

The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18

A Word From Our Pastor:
One of the greatest privileges we can have as a church is the privilege of coming along side others in the midst of their grief or sorrow. One of our values at Grace Community Covenant Church is that “People Matter to God.” As a church it is our sincere hope that you and your family will know that you matter to God and to us as well.

We truly desire to serve the spiritual and emotional needs of you and your family in this time of sorrow and pray that you will like-wise experience the peace and comfort of Jesus Christ in the days ahead.

The pastors and staff here at Grace are committed to helping you plan a worship service and reception that honors the life of your loved one and celebrates the hope we have in Jesus Christ.

Sincerely in Christ,
Randy Thyberg, Senior Pastor

Memorial Services and Receptions:

Memorial services at Grace are held on Saturdays at 10:00am.  Services and receptions may be held in either the Family Life Center or in the Fellowship Hall. If you anticipate a large memorial service, the reception may be held in a different building than the memorial service. Outdoor services will be subject to weather conditions.

Our facility is available for three (3) hours which includes both the service and the reception.

Please provide the Church Administrator with the name of a family member or close friend who will work with our coordinators to ensure that your hopes are met for the service and reception.

I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.  John 11:25

If you would like, Grace can host your reception with the following items:

10:00am  Sandwiches, vegetable or fruit trays (if in season), chips, cookies, coffee, tea and lemonade.

Pending the availability of the pastor and of our facilities, a memorial service may be held at other than 10:00am. However, Grace will not host the reception. You may have your reception catered in, which may include items such as:

- Cheese and crackers
- Fruit or vegetable trays
- Sandwich trays
- Salads and chips
- Bar desserts or cookie
trays

Please, no hot foods.

While our facilities and pastoral staff are provided at no charge for memorial services, we do encourage you to contribute $2.00 per person toward reception
expenses if Grace hosts the event. If you are unable to contribute to the cost of the Grace hosted reception, expenses
will be covered by Grace’s Care and Compassion Fund.
